I love

I loved them just the way they are.
I was curious and still am to know.
Who are you and what you’d let show?
The scars, the pain, the love, and that smile.

A smile I haven’t seen in a while.
Let me tell you a story.
No, wait! Let me hear yours first!
Can we talk endlessly and just stare lovingly.

How could such beautiful souls exit?
Oh my god, I found myself a friend!
So similar, so kind, and understanding.
My tea of cup and kind of people.

I get all warm and fuzzy just talking.
My goofiness cannot help but show.
Would they hate me if I let them know?
My story, pain, and life…

But the pain is driving me insane.
I’ll take the risk and let go.
I’ll let them know.
If they go, they go.

If they stay, I’ll be allowed to continue to love them so.
