I want to live at my own pace,
My life is no race.
That’s what I used to say and believe,
They told me I am deceived!

Money is important you see,
Work hard and be smart!
The competition is ruthless,
Life is merciless and you’re penniless!

Run, be cautious, be quick!
Run, there’s no time to think!
Run, you can’t risk the wait!
Run, it might be too late!

Breathless, I skip the sky,
You can’t rest when you might die!
Breathless, I sprint, I jump high,
You can’t trust time when you might die!

Perfect body, perfect image, perfect…
I have to leap and nail it!
I have to skip enjoying the wind!
Discipline! I am in my twenties so I should run!

‘Don’t waste the time you have’ they said,
‘Don’t do like I did’ they yelled,
‘Don’t do this… Do that…’ I try to remember…
My mind is like a racing war…

I stare at my screen as my days pass by…
Unsure why…
